When do we think we'll see more concrete plans for this new building? What's in the IMP seems more of a generic massing placeholder than anything.

It's a decision alright, albeit a questionable one. The two new science buildings work with the more-modern materials they selected over there, but the brick here just isn't working. I would honestly appreciate a red brick (similar to what is shown on slide 17) to make it a tad more digestible...

Selfishly hoping that despite how cool this view is, P13 and P15 one day come to fruition and disrupt this view.

Walter Brown is slated for renovations and Matthews is slated for demolition. That displaces BU women's to Agganis and NU men's and NU women's to an undisclosed location for a few years. Doesn't leave much room for PWHL Boston, it seems, on the college front.

Exterior material looks a bit better when it's zoomed in, but still feel like there was still room for improvement for this design. Having "HUSKIES" visible from the Mass Ave station platform is a nice touch.

Something I noticed in this letter is it mentioned multi-purpose turf - an element not currently found at Matthews and only at Cabot. Can't help but wonder if this will carry over some elements from the 2012 IMP to the 2024 IMP, with all athletics being centralized near the site of Matthews, and...

This whole section of Columbus has been devoid of commercial activity for eons. Even with the retail opening up in Lightview and ISEC finally getting a replacement coffee shop, it still feels like it's still missing something. Wonder what it'll take to get things feeling "right."

Seems like they're just going to keep changing it until it gets built. This is what, the fourth iteration of the design? Feels like this one will stick, at least. I was more partial to the third design.

Big day - the bridge stairs have finally reopened! You now no longer need to talk through ISEC to get across the tracks.

Speaking of these buildings, they’ve added some colors with country names to the stairs for commencement. It’s a nice little pop.

This is already kinda sorta enacted. The Sheraton (now dubbed 39 Dalton to make it sound more like a dorm and not a hotel) is currently housing NU students and is fully staffed by university residential life staff. Looks like this might be a proposal to formalize the decision.
