Agreed, but it does a great job filling in that part of the new skyline if you will.

It's amazing how tall it looks from this angle, yet not so much or even mostly blocked from others. I never new the land varied that much in height. I guess they didn't do a great job with the landfill back in the day.

You got my point. I have also been wondering about MT and One Dalton for the same reason. The question is, why can't they do something about it. God knows they spent enough on the towers, what's a little more cash to make ground level a nice place.

I should have been clearer about that. I did mention you could walk or subway to everything great around there. All I was referring to was street level Just outside the hotel. I'll admit I haven't been in Boston since Covid, but from past knowledge and present pictures it's not an ideal place...

I'm fairly new hear, but I am sure of one thing, if you don't understand why having new towers like this filled you simply don't understand today's economy and what all this is doing for Boston.

Thanks to all of you for the info. All I can say is Holy WOW. I'm glad to be a Bostonian.

That looks cool. I've been dissing this building mainly because of the color being to close to the Hancock. Is it going to look like this from certain angles or only when the sun shines on it?

OK. I'm assuming I'm going to get slammed for this, but it's a serious question on my part. In no way am I putting Boston down. (well maybe) When I first learned what Raffles is I learned the amazing cities that had them and frankly I didn't and still don't think Boston compares for various...

Wow, those harbor shots are so much better than just 5 years ago. Every time a sporting event shows Boston it pisses me off when they use a 5 year old video of downtown and of the Back Bay. I mean really, it doesn't take that long to update some video. Come on!

I'm still wondering how much taller this will get. I now it's not much, is it just the mechanical left? The building angle looks great from the expressway. Is South Station going to block it in any way or some of the others, or is it far enough away to keep good lines of site to some of the...

Raffles Boston (40 Trinity Place) | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

I've gotten some flak about my opinion, but the more pictures I look at with different angles, the more I don't like this. The height is not the problem, it's the color, it just blends into the Hancock and gets lost. I strongly feel that way from all the pictures above. Maybe, just maybe when...

Does anyone know how much higher this is getting? I think I'm kind of in the minority and I should see it in person, but I just don't like this building. It looks like a stump next to the Hancock and why the blue glass to compete with the Hancock. I don't understand a lot of the thought...

Appreciate it. I joined the site because I love tall buildings, but don't know a lot of the info I would like, so I basically have my opinion and the need for more knowledge about what's going on. If you have helpful tips for me, please feel free to advise.

I'm sorry if I'm late to the party. Has this topped off? I still see what I believe are two cores sticking up. How many more floors and mechanical? What does that amount to in feet? I'm liking it. Seems like I really have to get closer to really appreciate it. I guess I'm comparing it to MT...

I was just hoping for enough of a difference between them to create some variety in downtowns newest/tallest buildings. I guess if it's not height, I should be hoping for enough of a different look to make them stand out. For those of you who have seen them up close, does that seem to be the case?

Sorry if I offended you. It's just my opinion and isn't that what we are here for. I won't stoop to your level and curse you out when I see something you write that I don't agree with or think you're being arrogant about, which is clearly your tone.

Raffles Boston (40 Trinity Place) | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

I'm new to the site. Lived in the suburbs my entire life. I won't get into the politics and Logan problems as far as the buildings we are building, but I will get on the architects of this current cycle, which I'm assuming that after South Station is coming to an end. I won't even wait for...

State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

This is a cool building despite being a bit to fat for my taste, but once again I find myself saying why not another 5-10 stories. I'm not looking for Super talls, just something to give the skyline some buildings to make the older ones not look so stumpy. Imagine this building another 100 feet...

I have not been in town to see this building, but is it or is it not suppose to be taller than MT. It looks close from certain angles and it looks like a bit more before it tops off, but this continues to confound me, I don't need the 1,000 footer Menino called for all those years ago, but if...
