88 Black Falcon Avenue | Seaport

There are also labs at the ISQ on Tide Street. So there is a cluster here. I do wonder what happens to these buildings if they aren't labs. Are they the future mill building?

Oxford Office Bldg. | 125 Lincoln St | Leather District

Except that there is recent community planning that calls for 100' feet here--that's obviously not a hard cap but they've blown so far past it. Height could potentially be good here with a residential footprint, which would be slimmer, and the right orientation. Throw in a decent podium that...

    11-21 Bromfield Street | DTX | Downtown

Wondering if this thread should be renamed? The project has refiled at 11-21 Bromfield and it's confusing to still see 1 Bromfield.

Canopy by Hilton (née Haymarket Hotel) | Blackstone St | Parcel 9 | Greenway

I think there are also some supports for the market in the new building--maybe trash/storage space and toilets?

Boston Tech Center Redevelopment | 176 Lincoln Street | Brighton

Yeah, a nice, well-designed industrial facade has a lot going for it, particularly in Brighting. Unless they have some kind of headquarters tenant like NB across the way, that one feels totally overwrought.

    Nuba ( Parcel 8) | 429 Melnea Cass Blvd | Nubian Sq | Roxbury

The one thing I keep thinking is that Urbanica has a good track record of getting things that are pretty good built. I don't love the scallops, but those can go away pretty easily. Height seems okay on Melnea Cass (it's also proposed at Parcel 10) so if one of the higher ones seems like it could...

Dorchester Bay City (nee Bayside Expo Ctr.) | Columbia Point

I'd bet you it's coming from Harbor Point--they don't want people driving on their streets. The City isn't willing to go against the community too much, which in many ways is a good thing but does result in this kind of stupid thing. It's even worst at Suffolk Downs where there is no connection...

    Best Development Proposal Nominations

Hard disagree. This is the one view where it looks good--it's just too fat and the space around is it is so compromised.

    Best Completed Development Nominations

This is a great project. And I really appreciate that it is intended to be a model for future Cambridge municipal buildings.

L Street Station Redevelopment (née Old Edison Plant)| 776 Summer Street | South Boston

There seems to be a belief that residential is more of an impact on traffic despite tons of evidence that commercial/office uses generate more trips. The push to decrease residential on this site is just increasing the traffic problems. An the T continuing to cut isn't helping anything.

10 World Trade | BGI Office Tower (Massport Parcel A2) | Seaport

I love it when a really great space, like a penthouse level, is used for the whole building and not dedicated to private offices. Genzyme in Cambridge is my favorite example, with its top floor cafeteria.

I honestly can't tell if you are being sarcastic

And code for existing is typically easier to meet than new construction. They might have also been encouraged to keep the existing by the city.

Kenmore Square North (WHOOP) | 533-541 Commonwealth Ave | Fenway

That sampler looks depressing. So flat and boring. And that's coming from someone who loves stack bond

    Residential / Executive Suites | 601 Newbury St | Fenway / Kenmore

That's a Frank Gehry project. Whole nother kettle of fish

    Residential / Executive Suites | 601 Newbury St | Fenway / Kenmore

? It's depressingly bad. Instead of a handsome background building it is calling way too much attention to itself with faux historic detailing on the addition. That giant cornice in particular looks lacking in detail. Vertical additions can be so good but this is just a typical Boston exercise...

Pier 4 Condo Building (Former Anthony's site) | Seaport

Ugh. I hate all those building signs. Why does a law firm need to advertise? Gross.

    11-21 Bromfield Street | DTX | Downtown

I think this looks pretty good. My biggest issue with the early design was how it just killed Bromfeld with that huge porte cochere (the one nearby at 45 Providence is managed really badly--there always seem to be too many cars around it and edging in on the sidewalk). This is better but that...

The Aubrey | 149-153 Newbury Street | Back Bay

This also falls under the Back Bay Architectural Commission review. Not sure where they are in that process.

Some of this is our medical care model, which focuses on procedures.
