Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

if both branches of Rockport/newburyport are electrified, and a line to Peabody is electrified splitting off Salem tunnel, will the inner portions of this line ever see less-than-15-minute headways? Assuming the grade crossings in Chelsea/Everett are eliminated, would it be realistic to get 10...

Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

I've always felt like this really should be one of the premier "squares" in the city once parcels 12, 13 (Viola) and eventually 15 close off the highway (would love to see Berklee bring back their concept for something at the southeast corner of the intersection and added excited if something...

Anyone know when the 2nd phase of this is starting aka the spot where the supermarket is?

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

What would this mean for Waltham? It seems the city would benefit greatly from increased frequencies to downtown from the stop in the city (as well as one near 95 with biz park shuttles) but I’ve never understood a good way to eliminate the grade crossing? Would the crossing be able to remain...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

For a Greenline branch into Needham off the D, swallowing Needham commuter rail, would there be a need to build a flying junction from the existing D line where the lines would branch off south of Route 9? Or would traffic be light enough that they could make do with a (presumably less...

Regional New England Rail (Amtrak & State DOT & NEC)

F-line, I'm curious as to why they prefer the Crown St. site rather than right at Main St., which is much closer and walkable to actual downtown. Does this just have to do with the layover yard access that you mentioned, or because the curvature of the track at this location? Would this be...

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I agree that the residential building not reaching the pre-approved 659' is a huge miss in terms of the visual aspect of this corner of the city. Having a peak like that surrounded by Avalon, Alcott, office building, and even the One Congress buildings would've gone a long way toward making...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

F-Line, what do you see as the rolling out order of your described projects? Obviously UR NW quadrant as you've described would be a first step before getting thru Chelsea or over to Harvard, but what about the south half? Do you envision that coming after the NW and NE quadrants are done via...

    Green Line Reconfiguration

With traffic from NW Quadrant, Union Sq., MVP, and NE Quadrant, will there ever be congestion issues at Lechemere? I know you said some of the Ring trains will skip Lechemere and run thru from one quadrant to another, but that still seems like a lot of traffic for a single island platform.

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

So in either scenario, there is no GreenLine and Commuter Rail transfer station until North Station? I was thinking the two might meet in West Med. Otherwise Lowell Line riders who need to get to a GLX stop would have to take a train all the way to North Station, then transfer to Green and go...

Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Was this always in the design specs or is this a fairly recent change due to MBTA exploring commuter rail electrification? I’d be surprised if something was changed this late in the game on GLX.

Regional Rail (RUR) & North-South Rail Link (NSRL)

F-line, how does this RFI fit with your posts about the NJ Transit "Slush" order of bi-level EMUs? I seem to remember you suggesting that would be the fastest/easiest way to get EMUs up and running, does that jive well with the technical specs of this RFI?

    Reasonable Transit Pitches

Along with removing street running section and putting trolleys in proposed reservation for E on Huntington west of Brigham Cir (39 bus could share this), E should have dedicated reservation on South Huntington all the way to Hyde Square. From Riverway to Heath St this seems doable, ban parking...

    Crazy Transit Pitches

How does a Kenmore-Brookline Village-Boylston via Huntington pattern work at BV? Any structural changes needed at BV for trains coming from Kenmore to get onto Washington St? From Google Maps, looks like a flat junction could work for a train turning south at the station down Pearl Street then...

Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike Parcel 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

Will the air rights building fronting Brookline ave also provide access to Yawkey/Landsdowne Station? There isn't currently access to the station from Brookline but I can't tell from renderings if the air rights portions of this project will provide a pedestrian walkway to the station similar...

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I think the idea was to have it run on a viaduct above Mass Ave. rather than digging below, but i could be wrong. F-line has described why tunneling under Main isn't feasible due to the red line running beneath.

I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

What scale would cost estimates on NW quadrant Cambridgeport-Lechmere look like at LRT? You’ve talked about overpasses at Mass. Ave., Cambridge St. and maybe a couple others plus the duck-under to tie in with Union Sq. Would the rest of it be closer to SL3 in Chelsea? Laying tracks and hanging...

Exchange South End ( Boston Flower Exchange) | Albany Street | South End

Does this project encompass Jacobson floral supply as well, or just flower exchange?? If its just flower exchange that means the Jacobson parcel will be another huge parcel available for redev, not quite this big but still significant.

The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Agreed. Not height for heights sake, but would be much more visually appealing driving in from the north if they had used that full 659'. I'm surprised that right on top of the 2nd biggest transit hub in new england they apparently didn't think they could sell/rent more units?? Or was there...

    Seaport Transportation

thanks...i do like this as an option to siphon some ridership off the 7, and if it was greenline that connected to the rest of the line at Boylston it might even take some 9 ridership. Even without those two considerations its usefulness for getting people from east side of Southie to Seaport...
