Going to miss these buildings. Really wish they could've been renovated, but they've been neglected for far too long.

It still flows under the city as well. There was an idea floating around years ago about closing down Harding St. and replicating the canal, as the original flows directly underneath it (but has since been repurposed as a sewer). Unfortunately it never really got anywhere.

    35 Portland Street (Atelier 35) | Worcester

Go back to the drawing board for 1 parcel, open up a number of other smaller ones onto a new small side street for development, and get rid of a large surface parking lot right off the common? Probably a smarter idea.

Proposed Location Not a bad infill - trade a 3 decker and a parking lot for mixed use. Personally, I would prefer the building to deck over the parking lot in the rear as well, but I can see why they went with a bit of a buffer, as the property backs right up to the Worcester Line.

The less said about the Midtown Mall, the better. It was an eyesore in the city's eyes that the city had been trying to get the owner to fix up for years.

48 Mason St Affordable Housing | Worcester

I'm not opposed to the infill on the vacant lot, but I just wish it had a better exterior - maybe a combination of brick and shingles to match the 3 deckers and old brick buildings in the area. But beggars can't be choosers. We need these units yesterday.
