But yes I would agree that Boston shuts down at night, especially for such a major city. I spent almost 5 years in tampa and despite being a significantly smaller city there seemed to be way more nightlife happening.

Also UMAmherst having the #1 food in the country only matters because its pretty much in the middle of nowhere. There are not exactly alot of places to eat off campus.

The area infront of the school also has wide shoulders on both sides. These shoulders are only used in the morning before start of school(7:45am) and during pick up (middle school ends 2:03, high school 2:09pm) otherwise shoulders on the fells are usually completely clear all day.
