Also, you don't want beams falling on people. (Glad nobody got hurt.)

That's great that you don't mind getting wet when it's cold. Not everybody is as hearty as you. Hopefully the architects of this project were thinking of others.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

It bothers me for two reasons: 1) It looks unfinished. (Because it is. Hopefully they do actually enclose it as the construction worker told me they would.) 2) Rain and wind and snow. If you're warm inside waiting for your train, you don't want to get wet just before you get on your train. That...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Simple. Cover it with glass or something transparent, and everybody is happy. The amount of natural sunlight that gets through is so minimal, and would only benefit people walking in a hurry to get on their train (or arriving), that the argument for leaving it open is not really that strong...

Some photos of the train station. You can see the really big gap between the station house and the new building/track platform. A worker said they had plans to eventually enclose the opening. I hope he was right.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

Luckily, Boston isn't overrun with blue glass buildings as so many cities are. So while I am almost universally opposed to blue glass buildings, I'm OK with this one. It has a little style; it's not just a glass box. The part I'm most interested in, though, is the improvement to South Station...

No. I mean the ceiling over the tracks, as in BeeLine's photo 1153 above.

^^ Nice photos. Will something be done to make the ceiling over the tracks look presentable?

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I hope not. It's the year 2023. There are countless better ways to provide ventilation while also providing cover for passengers.

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I don't know about you, but once I get out of the rain or snow and into the station waiting room, I kinda don't want to get wet again right before I get on the train. I imagine 99.73% of the population would agree with me. It would be such a shameful oversight to spend all these millions for a...

South Station Tower | South Station Air Rights | Downtown

I hope it's eventually covered. If it's not, it will be a big open space for snow and rain to fall on people as they walk from the indoor station to the tracks, which are actually completely covered now (pretty much "inside"). I bet plenty of people other than you would see the problem. (Please...

Middlesex County Courthouse Redevelopment | 40 Thorndike St | East Cambridge

This building is being transformed from a contender for the third ugliest building in the world to a solid 7 or 8.
