I don't normally chime in on these projects - but the washington street building and the self-service storage facility are absolutely hideous. The residential building at least seems like they put some thought into (just ok, not great)

it would be better if the storage facility didn't have these weird strip-mall fake things on it - why not attempt to make it look modern? There are so many interesting things you can do with blank box... this just insults the cultural literacy of the surrounding neighborhood. and that corner piece on the washington street building is really strange.

I propose that this thread be renamed "JP, Washington Street Developments"... there's no pan-JP thread and the projects Im going to share go well together and probably dont need separate threads.

#1: McBride @ Washington, former Flanagan & Seaton Motor Car Co.:

The renders appear to be somewhat different versions, but one thing I didn't know about this until now is that the SW Corridor park will get a new segment on this side of the tracks, which is very cool.

#2: I have no pics myself, but the Commons site at Forest Hills has been undergoing demo for a couple weeks and is a big site of activity. Hadn;t seent his render yet, so here it is:

Wow, those two projects will hopefully help push the MBTA toward doing something with the Arborway yard. If that happens, the section of Washington to the East of Forest Hills will become quite vibrant compared to the wasteland that it is today.
