Came across 6 Norman Street in the August Agenda Materials for Everett Planning Board.

The highlights:
  • Will replace 1- and 2-story warehouse/garage buildings 5-story residential building.
  • Proposed 66 units on 24,000 sq. ft. site (1/2 acre)
  • Total 133 parking spaces on 2 levels--61 below ground, 57 at ground level, and 15 exterior spaces.
  • Abuts the Northern Strand Trail and Everett Community Growers Farm... this path was recently approved to extend 3/4 mile south to the Harborwalk at Encore Boston Harbor.
  • "Located in the River Front Overlay District, the Site is positioned in a section of Everett that is transforming from an area that was previously occupied by industrial, warehouse uses and few residential buildings to an area that now includes retail, recreation, entertainment and office uses. The proposed residential building design will complement these current uses and is compatible with surrounding buildings using recognizable materials and building scale."

Right now there is a hidden little gated entrance to the bike trail - (best way to get to Nightshift brewing!). I hope that they recognize the value an expanded direct connection to the trail would add, and build that into the design.

Copying-over stick n move's post from the infill thread:

New Plans Filed for Everett Multifamily

“With previous approvals for a 66-unit project expired, new plans are now under review for a multifamily development at 6 Norman Street in Everett. New plans call for a 6-story building with 114 units and 48 parking spaces. Units would include a mix of 40 studios, 60 one-beds, and 14 two-beds.”
