Advertising on Construction Sites in NYC

There is a law in NY that states that every building made of brick or masonry on the outside mush be checked every few years for deterioration so buildings are always being covered up with scaffolding. They put the adds on them and all of a sudden where a building was there is now just adds. It really is jarring.

There was/is a real problem with heavy cornices falling off of buildings. I remember a New Yorker article about it.
 
All the scaffolding creates this strange phenomenon: You will go to a place every day while the building is covered and after they take it down you come back and you feel like you have never been there before. It is like you are rediscovering the area even though you go there all the time.
