Assembly Square Infill and Small Developments | Somerville

No mention of whether this is temporary until they tear it down later, but it doesn't seem like they're less than a decade from doing that anyway. I guess it's better to use the building than to turn it into weeds...

Cough Cough the former Circuit City.

Great twilight pics! I don't think we had a thread for that project... but maybe it's hiding somewhere?

I hope some condos get built across the tracks from that garage and block it from view.
Yeesh, I hope not! I'm not a fan of the garages either, but the only land across the tracks from these is riverfront queued up for park space/landscaping improvements. Unless Federal Realty either decks a condominium over the tracks or reconstructs the garages themselves into condos, I think we'll need to learn to love the murals.

Theres room for both and it could even block the park from being right next to noisy train tracks.

From last night. I could have sworn there was a separate thread for the PUMA headquarters but can't find it. The new tallest on the right is flat out dominating the area.

Some of these shots make Assembly look like a great area to hang out before walking over to the Casino, but alas...

Yeah. Between the administrative costs of rebranding and how recognizable Partners had become as a HCP, this was a really bone-headed move.

And now it looks like the building is a hospital itself from afar.

The rebranding isn't targeted at us, the locals.

It is for the very lucrative, high-end medical tourism trade that really creates the profits at MGH and Brigham.

Mass General and Brigham are way more well recognized internationally.

That makes sense, but the hospitals' names didn't change. Partners was just the umbrella group. They set up some clinics with the Partners name, but any medical tourism would still have the "big names" to latch on to. Big waste of time and money IMO.
