I salivate at the idea that Boston builds a man-made island a little bit further out and relocates the airport there. Look at all the development space East Boston would have. Sorry off-topic.

Nah. I agree 100% with you. Logan being put on an island would be great. I think it would be a good way to create a vastly superior cargo port, as well. The rail alignment around Day Square could go off into present-day Logan and go wherever on the property it is built, and with a replaced bridge on the Chelsea Creek, freight could effectively go to ANY RAIL LINE (except the Needham and NEC between the Pru and Readville) without a single reverse move (use loop at Beacon Yard). Thus making it the most efficient possible container port. (Also direct access to I-90, possible).

Not to mention the massive amount of new residential possibilities, resort/beach area which could be made, and incredibly more lax height restrictions.
