China's above traffic - Straddling bus technology

This might work on some of the highways leading into Boston. I think it could give people an almost vertigo type feeling when driving underneath it though.
Sort of like the sensation one gets walking forward in a bus or train that begins speeding forward.

Wasn't this some kind of hoax or cutesy proposal? I don't think it's actually happening anywhere.

Yeah, I recall seeing it as some sort of "transit in the future" list or something. Never heard of anyone seriously attempting implementation.

There was hoax talk? It sort of reminds me of a gantry crane. Since I posted, I started thinking about bridges in this state. They're kind of low. This might require three story high clearances below such bridges. This might be something better suited for a new city or development area being built from the ground up.

This has complicated the 128 Widening Project. In some instances the contractors have had to perform full-depth roadway construction under the bridges (rather than mill/overlay) because the clearance is so low. The full-depth is done during a 48 hour stretch over the weekend.
