Liberty Mutual can burn in hell (go back a few pages to my original post), but this just proves that the BRA and LM are corrupt.

The question is what can we do to stop this type of corruption? I understand we will get shady deals and I can deal with some politicans trying to swindle somthing. But giving 46 Million in tax breaks to a private insurance especially to Ted Kelly makes me want to puke. This company generates billions they do not need 46 million in tax breaks from the taxpayer. Then they are indicted for bid rigging scams. The guy is probably pretty close to being a billionaire. This is BULLSHIT. Free Democracy my ass.

^ I couldn't have said it better myself. Definitely Republica values at work here.

Re: Liberty Mutual plans major Boston expansion

The US has been a democratic federal republic since the conclusion of the Civil War. True democracy never works because 51% will always vote to take the remaining 49% stuff. That's why property rights and the representative system of the republic were chosen by the founding fathers. Straight republics tend not to work because the representatives aren't responsible to the public they represent. Thus the idea of combining the voting of democracy was combined with the representation of the republic to attempt to take the best of both while avoiding the worst. Unfortunately sometimes we get the worst of both as well. The federal part refers to federalism, which was seen as a solution to the weak and dysfunctional confederation which existed 1782-1789 prior to the formation of the second republic under the current constitution.

Why, assuming, as the only foreigner, whom happened to be educated in only the finest Soviet orphanages, am I the only one aware of this?

You're not. In economics, we already know that democracy is a sham. It's called the median voter theorem where the people who cares the least are the ones who make the decision.

Question is: When will the people rise up and fight for democracy? In this age or SUV's and iphones, I doubt it!
