What is there to plan at this point?

View corridors and where to put giant potted plants on the sidewalks?

Is there a solid plan of action for Fairmount and Readville (especially Readville Junction, also the Yard) yet? That's the largest immediate-term problem that could be readily pointed to as a cause for this meeting.

Everything else that comes to mind is either too long-term (electrification), too dependent on external projects (Fairmount -> Route 128), or just too far out there (River Street infill) to be brought up in this meeting.

No funding yet. Fairmount's already ADA compliant, so full-high platforms took a back seat to getting everything else built. Readville realignment into a full 2-track island platform accessible from any thru-service direction I bet will happen in some way indirectly tied to Amtrak tri-tracking the NEC from Readville to Canton Jct. Being able to extend the line to a Westwood/128 terminus is good enough impetus for paying for the last couple remainders and finally increasing the service levels to something more meaningful. You're not talking very much money at all to get the last two legacy stations up-to-spec with the others...they just need to time it correctly with the next round of grant applications.

I don't think that's what these meetings are about, though. This seems to be more a city thing about TOD zoning around the new stations, which means...pretty much fighting over where to put the overpriced potted plants on the adjoining streets.
