Fanueil Hall Bars 'close' at 1am?

fuckin bars are all closed at 1am. they stop letting people in. Purple Shamrock, Patty O's, Hennessey's, Sissy's, The Place, The Black Rose.... all of em, all fuckin closed at 1am. they stop lettin people in. But the bar is still open till 2. So.... weak. This is definitely new. Where's it coming from?

But you can still go to the back bay and get in till 1:50? are you kidding me?

The worst part was I'm sitting outside Purple Shamrock just watching people boosing and hot girls dancing thru the giant window. i was nonchalant outside, but i was crying inside.

Presumbly their license requires this, so that they don't become a magnet for people leaving other bars with a last call of 1 am. The Burren in Davis Square had to accept such a stipulation to get its 2am extension.

Yea but this is a new development. They always let people in till about 145. They already had their license, so i dont understand it. Though I dont know the specifics of liquor licenses.

I heard something about it having to do with that kid getting stabbed outside that southie bar. But if this is the case, why dont they do it throughout the city?
