Benisch Architects, of the Genzyme Center and as mentioned in the previous post are now designing some North Point buildings, also won the commission for the first major new Harvard project in the new Allston campus, a new biosciences complex.

They are working with Next Phase Studios.

Click on "Projects" then "Institutional" then "Harvard Life Sciences Complex" Very interesting design, I like it a lot. Make sure to click on "More" for more info and images. For some more different images from the same project, click on the same subject under the "Competitions" section.

While this is good for Harvard and Allston, I hate those facades. Maybe they "express" what goes on behind those walls, but that irregular window placement just looks plain awkward, and I'm saddened to see that this is becoming a flat out design trend, given the number of buildings I've seen proposed/under construction with the exact same look.
