No, I believe that the T doesnt plan on doing it until 2040. Advocates like TM are pushing for it.

What's ironic about this is the MTA (predecessor of the MBTA) had a great system of electric trackless trolley lines in the 1950s which were pretty much all replaced with petroleum fueled busses,

My thing is that they can still bring back what was called trackless trolley buses if they wanted to. But putting back the catinary overhead wires is probably another matter, since that would cost them extra $$$$ to do that.
