Yeah. So I went up again with a couple of my friends and I actually got out and took pics this time. Its a nice place to walk around. The cruise ship was HUGE! I had never seen one in person before. There were lots of people fishing at the pier we were at. The worst part of the day was when I stepped in dog crap. oh well.

I know, even though I grew up here, the size of those cruise ships still amazes me, they are gigantic

the pier you were on is scheduled to be redeveloped into high end shops, restaurants, public space, offices and a luxury hotel

I can't view any of the pictures on my work computer, but it sounds like you were most likely in the old port district

you should see it at night

Thats a nice looking project. I hope it gets built. Yeah we walked through the old port. I didn't take any pics because the lighting sucked. But that place is amazing! The whole downtown is amazing.

One of the things I hope Portland is working on is its homeless population. There were quite a few homeless people walking around. Also there were a couple vacant offices on congress street that are just begging to be used.

The Bayside area is going to look real nice once the Intermed building gets built and the housing behind it. Especially from the highway.

I am definitely going to head back up there before the summer is up.

The homeless in Portland are not from here. My understanding is that a lot of them are from other towns and out of state. Some are from here, but not all. We have already built an apartment complex for the men, and one is being built for the women. But I know what you mean, the place is full of homeless. That's also sorta what makes Portland Portland, though. you expect it.

What offices on Congress street were you referring to? Congress street is pretty vibrant these days, compared to what it was a few years ago.

How's Manchester these days?

How's Manchester these days?

There is this one street level office that has a marble/granite face that has a for sale sign on it. And there is another across the street. Those were the only ones that I saw but they are very nice places to have a business in.

I have been busy working (exept for last week obviously) so I am not totaly updated on whats going on in Manch. Those townhouses behind the ballpark are done but I think there is a hold up on those two mid rises. The whole granite street/highway project is going strong. Its going to look real nice when complete. And they finally started on the foot bridge across the highway downtown. There is also an old mill on maple street that is currently being turned into condos. Looks real nice.

The Catholic Medical Center is being expanded yet again. This time they constructed a parking garage and they are currently building a whole new building across the street. A foot bridge is going to connect it to the main building.

And Manchester Airport is going through another expansion. One of the runways is being lengthened and they are to re-route a portion of south willow st. because of it.
