New York's "Shadow Transit"

Very cool, and he missed some other fairly established ones like minibuses linking Hasidic communities in Queens and Brooklyn. A friend of mine who lives in Dudley has told me there's a fairly robust dollar-van system linking to Uphams and various other places around Rox/Dor/Mat.
 
we need a map of that, never heard of them in boston, tbh never heard of them at all before that article
