North Washington St Bridge

I'll take a closer look next time I ride through on the ferry. They look like timber to me, but now I'm having my doubts.

I'm now convinced that the guides/bumpers under the bridge are actually wood, though my intense scrutiny of them is probably starting to worry the other passengers on the ferry.

So far its looking completely different from the renders, hopefully the side of the bridge is going to have a metal fairing installed to cover up all of the steel framing.

Oh, wow, it is looking like a real bridge finally

Seems that THIS & other construction projects have been screwed up around Boston. But hopefully, it seems to be on the right track now. :)

What's the timeline for the eastern/northern sidewalk to open. I sure hope it's not all the way to March 2025 as was the timeline stated in the presentation for "contract complete/construction complete". Haven't heard any updates yet.

There are meetings this week for updates.
Sidewalk looks pretty close to opening, which is on pace with Oct 2022 timelines.
Project complete includes removing the temporary bridge. That was never the opening date.

The public meetings won't have any online materials or streaming? Seems strange since the MBTA meetings are livestreamed even when they are in person.

The rendering on page 24 shows how nicely this bridge is going to work with the Zakim in the background. It's like a schooner next to a tall ship. I'll venture that quite a few pictures will be taken of this pair.

How deep does a planter box need to be to get a tree properly rooted?
