The big snippers -- I think they used these to take down the North Station elevated structure.

Plenty more where this came from...

Is this station closed while it is rebuilt, or is some temporary structure going to serve customers?

No. They just put up signs that said "Fuck you and your station, now have a casino. ~Mayor Thomas M. Menino"

Any plans for the new one?

Here's the best I could find:

View from the corner of Antrim and Bennington Streets.

Having attended four of the community design workshop meetings, the design is value-engineered to the hilt. In general, it's a poor solution to the needs of the community. Something approaching the off-the-shelf designs used on the Orange Line (Green Street, Stony Brook) would have been far better, locating the head house against a widened Frank Scarpa (Saratoga Street) Bridge, with an additional lane to accommodate the Winthrop buses.

This scheme shares elements of Wonderland, and a downscaled Forrest Hills.

Temporary platforms are supposed to be constructed today, with service resuming tomorrow morning. I believe the track crossover and stairs will be left standing until the new crossover with stairs and elevators is completed.

Sounds eerily accurate...

Wood Island, Suffolk Downs, Beachmont, Revere Beach and Wonderland were all replaced in the 90s. I could never get a straight answer out of our reprobate elected officials at community meetings.

Making a life in East Boston requires constant vigilance, and an appetite for conflict. I'd be a very different person if I grew up in the 'burbs.
