Every time I see Pink Carrot, I expect it to be a corporate sibling of Pink Taco.

This is the first time I'm noticing that the sign has a couple "emoji" type faces. The black ties behind it add to the sloppiness.

That's a really interesting installation method...

Also, I'm coming to like this building in it's form; the facade could be a step up. Something about how shiny it is when you walk by really cheapens it. A matte finish would give a more solid and "natural" look. I also still wish it was green as originally intended.

Both stores were once my go to Friday evening kick-off if I didn't have other plans. Hit Tower, browse, listen, buy something, then pick-up a nice bottle to drink while listening to the album back at the apartment was always a good way to spend an otherwise unprogrammed evening.

You and I probably bumped elbows back then, though I was more partial to Newbury Comics because they seemed to offer more interesting merch and had decent events, like the time my friends and I wandered in to a then-mostly unknown Elliott Smith playing an in-store concert. I bought his XO album on CD on the spot, he's been my favorite musician since.
