Lyrik Back Bay | 1001 Boylston Street (Parcel 12) | Back Bay

^ With you 100%. Definitely caught myself thinking it was snow several times while editing, and definitely caught myself thinking nooooo it can't possibly be here yet 😰

Any guesses for what that rebar cage sitting on the gravel base is for? I wasn't expecting any kind of structure here for quite a while

Wow! After so many disappointments on so many of these turnpike decking parcels over the past many years, it's finally happening here, at Parcel 12! Can't wait to see this baby taking shape, and rising up over the Pike.

Looks like murder on the Pike, traffic-wise. Hynes Station is also included in the redo. :)

Hynes Station redo doesn't happen until the Viola project, Parcel 13, across the street. Hopefully it will happen -- planning still in process. No word since COVID-19 hit.

But be it now or later, Hynes still needs it to make it ADA accesible. :)

I thought this project at least was creating (restoring?) a head house on that side of Mass Ave?

A very recent MBTA presentation put Dec 2025 as the completion date, with conceptual design completed this month, and 100% design by 2022.

Likely up to developer's funds if it actually happens, but the MBTA is still currently moving forward with the process, checking with the developer bi-weekly.

Yes, this project involves a separate headhouse on the other side of Mass Ave that connects with Hynes. The station is due for a full renovation along with the Parcel 13 construction, once it hopefully begins to rise.

Yes, it is creating a new head house that will connect with an existing tunnel that once connected the bus stop to the existing station lobby. The project connected with the Viola parcel is much more substantial, bringing ADA compliant access to the platform level.

You can see the new headhouse in this image:

But again, it's a connection to the lobby/mezzanine, not the platforms.

That's some rendering porn if I've ever seen it. I'd guess that 80% of that vegetation will never be planted and that upper level will be pretty devoid of people. Who wants to hang out overlooking a highway?

Like the Highline, I believe there is a glass wall overlooking the Pike. But, yeah, the Pike is the Pike.
