Developer Related Beal filed notice with the city Thursday that it plans to put a 300,000 square-foot housing and retail project on the site of the now-closed Quinzani’s Bakery and neighboring Ho Kong Bean Sprout Co., at the corner of Harrison Ave. and East Berkeley Streets.

Related’s letter of intent gave few specifics but said the project would “provide for 18-hour uses and result in an enhanced, pedestrian-friendly public realm” on what is now a pair of small factories. Related said it would provide more details within a few months. Spokespeople for the developer did not return messages Thursday.

So this filing, and the Boston Properties filing for Back Bay Station/Garage, were both slipped in at the end of 2015 to avoid the new affordable housing requirements from the City.
