Looks like this is closer to happening. The meters around St. Marys are going to be going way up during Red Sox home games.

While I think it makes sense to cash in on fans trying to take advantage, I think there would be a better solution keeping in mind the local population that use the businesses along the stretch.

I would set the meters for a max of 1.5 hours and have them go until 9 pm. This would be on game days only. The fine for an unpaid meter would be $75, again on game day only. I think that would turn a lot of Sox fans off as the spots will still be attractive at a mere $22 for 4 hours. That is cheaper than some of the lots around Fenway and it is much easier to get out of.

FYI - there's always plenty of evening parking on Museum Road, next to the Museum of Fine Arts. You'd have to walk through the Fens to get to Fenway but who knows, maybe that would add excitement to your evening. Only $14!

I must admit that i have parked in cleveland circle before for $2 for 2 hours and expires at 6, and then taken the D in.

The rebuild of Museum Road looks like it's going to have the new smart meters.

Parking rate hikes just in time for 3-car trains on the D and B lines. Good news all around.
