GBH's article was linked to on UHub today: https://www.wgbh.org/news/local/202...les-may-soon-be-banned-on-massachusetts-roads

I was surprised to see this pop up there, since it seems like such a niche thing, but I'm glad to see it getting wider play. This is following a similar fight in RI with the same primary antagonist: The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, who have amended their off-road vehicle recommendations to include these small Japanese cars, and who apparently hold major sway in the RMV. The world needs smaller cars like this, they are objectively not hurting anyone and cities would benefit from more of them and fewer Suburbans.

The Drive had a further deep dive earlier this year - there seems to be no justifiable reasoning behind this animosity towards these cars, unless I'm missing something: https://www.thedrive.com/news/massa...-ban-after-uproar-over-canceled-registrations

Agreed to all your points, and I love that RMV is perfectly fine responding to all of this nonsense with a "no comment." How perfectly opaque all of this is.
