Does anyone know if it would be worth it to remove the Chelsea St bridge in Charlestown to reactivate this berth?:

The Tobin is even lower in this spot that where the auto import ship goes, so I'm not sure if it would even be usable. Would the ships that go to Conley be able to use this?

Not sure. Keep in mind that this little inlet was left because it has always been a navigable waterway. There was a small stream between the mud flats and by federal law the state couldn't fill it in. So it wasn't really created as a proper channel, as opposed to the channel in South Boston which was designed to be used as a deep water channel. I'm not sure how deep this is. Also given the proximity to a residential neighborhood I'm not sure it even makes sense. There are acres of empty piers just to the west on the Mystic River side which would probably be better for expanding into, if that is even necessary.

Is that really a shipping berth, or just a recreational boat launch? Super Duck Tours enter the water at this location.
