I was surprised by the turnout, really. Amazing.

I liked how there were a variety of viewpoints, albeit they were generally of moderate and conservative schools of thought. There were only a few jerks, and on both sides; mainly leftist jerks though, but not normal leftists... leftists with nothing better to do than be smug assholes.

Also, I feel the Palin supporters were a very, very small minority, found that funny. I, too, don't really care that she came.... :rolleyes:



Most importantly, I got a couple cool shots (but with a crap camera and uploaded to crapshack) with the Hancock in back. Some decent ones with Millennium Place, too, I 'spose...

Sorry, I'm not trying to be a leftist jerk, but the Tea Partiers in the Midwest are a bunch of obnoxious...people.
 
I was actually in Boston the day of the very first Tea Party protest. After checking out the crowd for a while I realized that they really didn't have any message, they just seemed mad ass hell for whatever reasons and really loud about it.

Hell, I'm willing to be a fare share of those people were just there to see what it was all about. Once the economy gets better the Tea Party will be a footnote (also after Palin gets her ass handed to her in the next election).
 
"Let's organize a protest on a park payed for by tax dollars against taxes!"

Why couldnt they hold these things on a private ranch or something?

They still don't really have a central message, I don't think. It's very mixed. heh

It's kinda like "Show up if you have any bureaucratic grievances and listen to people shout various angry messages while waving a variety of flags and signs."

Regardless, I appreciate seeing people out and about and ready to do something. Question is whether they actually will do anything.
 
Why did you find the crowd to be "amazing"? Because of the size or its makeup? If it's the size, how does 2,000-3,000 people make it "amazing"? I'm just asking.

Yep, definitely missed you guys. Would have loved to see that, I was actually disappointed that I didn't see anything like that. Guess I wasn't looking hard enough.

Is the Visitor's Center at the southern Park St headhouse? Across Tremont from West Street or so? I was in that spot at about 10:30-11:00 so I must really be blind unless it was later.

Honestly did not expect that many at all. To be perfectly honest, I expected them on both sides of Beacon Street by the State House or something.

But yes, both size and make-up. I saw a lot of just normal people, and they were being... normal...

Yep. I'm not hard to amaze.
 
Yes, the Visitor Center is next to the south exit from the Green Line. We were behind the visitor center, between it and the hill with the monument. Sorry you missed us! The Real Tea Party was in full swing by the time I arrived at 10:30, and we stayed around until 2:00.
