State sales tax

Well there will be a referendum next election to lower the sales tax to 3%.

Thoughts?

3%?! That's nuts. It's 7.725% here in MO. I remember liking the 5% because it was very easy to calculate what tax would be in my head. Nice round number. I think the state would probably have some problems if they went to 3%, or they'd have to raise other taxes, which would be no fun.

I'm not normally for tax cuts in dire times but the 6.25% tax makes it so much harder to calculate tips.
