My last post:

this whole thread is getting ridiculous

the difference between me and bobby digital is that my comments are generally humorous or joking in nature, while his are angry and retarded. im making jokes, hes swearing.

generally the things people find offensive about me are opinions, not me cursing out people and getting angry (i dont really do that), and personally i would hope that having someone with different, albeit extreme, opinions would help people reconsider their traditional beliefs.

now lets stop bitching and moaning and censoring and get back to the topic at hand.

i like justin's idea, but i think the problem that van makes despite his good intentions is deleting posts. if you delete bobby digital's most offensive post and move on, you're not encouraging positive behavior because youre not actually contacting him and asking him to stop, youre just deleting it. and so it continues, and you delete more, and it gets to a point where censorship is going on and none of us are learning from our mistakes

briv talked to me once or twice and i corrected my mistakes because i respected him and the way he cam and talked to me instead of just deleting what i wrote.

Van's response:

I think this thread is a perfect example of what I am talking about. I left it open for a civil discussion about the forum moderation and it has turned into an immature cat fight. Seriously Dude, Bobby D, grow up!

He then locked the thread.

Does anyone think this response was warranted given what I said? Was my last post part of an "immature cat fight" or was it a well thought out part of a civil discussion about forum moderation?

My opinion is that questions and complaints about locked threads and deleted messages should only be handled by private messaging either briv or vansh.

They shouldn't lock threads, especially a thread as important as forum policy. What's wrong with having a long discussion about forum rules and policy? If you don't like Dude's comments (I don't), just ignore them, but you shouldn't lock up a thread just because of a few people bitching and moaning about the rules and trying to justify their behavior. We need a continued discussion on what the rules should be and we should have a vote on it, so no locking threads please.

Dude, I didn't lock the thread because of nor was my comment based on the comment you made. I locked it because the tone of the conversation had developed into what I felt was bickering between the usual suspects. Also, the thread was there merely as an announcement of the new policy. What I am going to do is keep it locked BUT transfer all the posts to this forum where we can talk about the policy. I didn't make that clear and I apologize. You can find the new, open thread here.

The ''grow up'' remark was in regards to you talking about how we should act civil and then going right off and saying something that, while you might think is funny, others find offensive or childish. The same goes for Bobby D.

i think its funny how people actually like dude when the little twerp says shit twice as bad as i do and starts shit ALL the time with everybody.

your an internet geek if you find dude funny AT ALL. kid probably sits at his computer trying his hardest to think up funny shit and then it aint even funny!

"i just say funny stuff all the time and dont try to offend anybody when bobby just swears" Bro, your the only one that thinks the gay shit you pull is funny.
