Let assume the current Mayor steps down and you are charged with appointing a new Mayor. You can pick any living person you would like except yourself.

Who would you pick and why?

Osama Bin Laden

Seriously, why couldn't you just put this in the "open thread?" Quit attention whoring.

Someone from this forum who will appoint us all to assume all roles in the BRA.

Palin would reign in the budget and do a lot to end corruption. Of course, we would likely go to war with Cambridge, have Brookline boycott us, and the media would never stop talking about her family for the rest of her term.

I'd honestly abolish the current mayoral system and reenact representation strictly by individual neighborhood City Counselors. Have a rotating city council president serve as the mayor.

I thought Michael Bloomberg could do no wrong, once. Then he announced he was going to overturn the 2-term limit for NYC mayor. If this was a third-world country, we would have invaded.

He's still good. I tried to start the local "Draft Bloomberg for President" chapter back in 2008. It was only one of many failed political campaigns.

If you want to see a little bit of how Boston's city hall differs from New York's, check out this link from New York magazine. No cubes.
