Such a shame that we have to rely on the City to build great contemporary architecture because millionaire developers are too busy lining their pockets with the latest cardboard box.
Sasaki is part of the architectural team for the Ferdinand development. Many architects here in our fair city build institutional quality architecture, and are great designers. Don't assume that the only reason this is good design is because it comes from overseas. Our great talent in this city are just not often chosen for either political reasons, or someone wants to buy a name, not just great design.

DOT moving to Roxbury?
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is mulling a move from its current headquarters in Boston's Theater District to a soon-to-be-redeveloped site in Roxbury's Dudley Square. According to the Boston Globe, the potential move was part of the agenda during last night's Boston Redevelopment Authority meeting to consider, among other things, a potential land transfer that would enable construction of a new Department of Transportation building. The building would be part of the Tremont Crossing development, a long-delayed $350 million development in Dudley Square.
