This is honestly a huge development for the area. Theres kind of a no mans land over here and this will stitch some of the fabric together before the other parcels go up really making the area very urban and developed. Also its going to block the view of the garage from this angle which is another huge plus. The redesign looks wayyyyyy better than before and I cant wait to see this go up, been a long time coming.

True... also blocking off the vent buildings.

Yup, going to kill 3 birds with one stone. Nice development with ground floor retail where it did not exist before, blocking the garage, and blocking the huge ugly tunnel vent building. Plus its just another piece going in that stitches the area together where there hasn't been much of any development yet.

What are the foundations that they are digging out? They can’t be from old warehouses that sat in the area prior to the Big Dig.

The rendering shows that it will partially block the vent building and completely block the view of the garage that so many people hate. Waterside place 1A, 1B, and the Omni are directly in line with the tower in this render and completely blocked and the garage is in between both of those towers and none of them are able to be seen because of this tower. So good news for everyone worried about the garage, this building will completely block the view of it when coming into the Seaport from over the Fort Point channel. Then as we know it will be blocked from Summer street by the Omni and by Waterside Place from Congress street. So no need to worry the garage will hardly be visible from most places in the Seaport pretty soon and easily forgotten about. Also for as small as this parcel is they fit a lot of retail into it which will go great with the M parcels across the street.

Its going to add a lot of street wall within this small space and its going to go great with not only the M parcels but the rest of Seaport Square as well. This area has a lot of awkward shaped parcels but they are filling them in nicely and its really going to be seamless when finished and bring the seaport out much farther than the waterfront as it is now. Theres also still a huge amount of space on the channel near where GE is going in, and in various spots around the convention center so the things that we don't have yet like a grocery store, library...etc still have plenty of time and space left to be able to add them later.

No, they are the slurry walls they recently poured for this project.

This is an important parcel to fill. Its in a weird spot that would leave a gap in the street wall. Im glad theyre getting this out of the way.

Agreed. Is there any indication what the concave triangular parcel will become next door? It's current being used as office trailer staging for this project. Maybe it could be incorporated with any parcel A2 development, thus covering the off ramp.

Now that 'concave triangle parcel' screams out for a creative architectural solution!

The "Parcel D1" in that picture would be a pain in the ass to build on, but a deck from the ventilation building to A-2 would create a real streetwall on Summer and hide the pile of ramp spaghetti.

Not decking this area in the first place was a big mistake.
