This is a great new development on the edge of- - 400 new jobs in a very highly sought future industry (think the future of shipping and delivery and what that can unleash for cleaner transport energy/faster movement, etc). Plus, they will more than double the ground lease rent to the City than it has asked (unsuccessfully) for the past 8 years in the previous unsuccessful RFP’s.

This comes at an important and worrying time as Gingko is decreasing and trying to outsource its lab space in the Seaport.

This initiative in parcel M is, without doubt, a great development for the city and the region. This could go a long way in positioning Boston as a player within the global hubs of the robotics and automation industry. Lots of room next door in M1 (unless there are already initiatives for this parcel).

Parcel M1 is MassPort, and they just awarded it to Ocean Havens - Their priority is maintaining it as a deep water ship berth, so it'll become a multipurpose marine terminal.
