In this long thread, no one mentioned how the floors (never "storeys") are designated. It's bottom, middle, and top - never 1st, 2nd, 3rd. The landlord usually lived on the middle floor.

Where does this 'never' business come from? I assume you've polled a few million people to determine that absolute rule. :confused:

I disagree. I lived on the first floor. My landlord, however, did live on the second.
