Whoops, my bad. We can merge if you want. For some reason, I never saw the Bulfinch Triangle thread in my New Posts. I really don't like catch all threads and this thing, despite being a "small project," is actually pretty large.

Looking at the square as it is today on streetview with this and the Merano being developed it will make a really nice urban space. I just wish the city would improve the landscaping on the little sliver of park itself.

Re the signage placeholder on the hotel: "NoWa."

88 NOWA... to be fair, that is their address (North Washington). With precedent being set in the South End's SoWa neighborhood, I don't see a problem with the signage placeholder. I actually like it.

I like that it's a single unique building, instead of the other horizontally overreaching, hulking complexes built recently in the Bullfinch Triangle.

Oooweee. Never saw that coming. :biggulp:

How far are we from the digging?

Does it ultimately feel hulking tho since it's basically the same height of the Merano right next to it?

I can sometimes sympathize with NIMBY's, but the ones that use the community process to block development because of views and property value can go fuck themselves and I hope this thing gets steamrolled right over them.

I can too but this tower is even shorter than the Merano and is basically butted up against it so the view from the north end will not be affected by this in any way by once the Merano is built.

Im pretty sure the Merano is building a blank wall in the spot where this is going to go so they can either have this or a blank wall for a view. I know which one I would rather look at. If they need a reminder they can go check out 45 province and see how much of an eye sore that wall is from beacon/the common.

I hate to say this .. .but I wish it was one story taller so that it didn't just miss the height of the adjacent building. It looks like an "oops".

cca

ps ...yes ... drink.
