Looks like they're going with the gray alternative. Normally I'd hate that, but there's a lot of red brick on that side of Main and neither of MIT's buildings on the other side are gray, so it's actually some variety in this case.

I hate to be that person, but this building looks stumpy. Either adding 10-12 floors or cutting its width would make it look much nicer.

They need to disconnect it from the adjacent buildings and are drilling the piles in basement right now.

Part of one large development however so there is more than a casual juxtaposition relationship

Same thing will be true with Volpe Center redevelopment -- after the Fed's get their new building there will be probably 5 or so buildings and landscaping developed on the current site of the Volpe Center

Gameguy -- I'm aware of that about Volpe -- but the same is true about Boston Properties and the original Cambridge Center --at least initially
as for the other comment -- I replied to a thread in what I thought was a germane fashion and then it moved to here entirely under some other forces
