North End Cross Street Boutique Hotel | 42 Cross Street | North End

Interesting observation cuz if you zoom in the bricks are aligned again too

I think the color of the brick panels will be critical. Kenmore Square North had a sickish pink shade, but I think this hotel's brick panels will have a slightly orange/terra cotta hue (instead of the pink), which should make it better.

Looks very similar to the Haymarket hotel across the street.

I’m so relieved the developer scrapped the driveway/curb cut and opted for the enhanced pedestrian realm and a new protected bike lane here. This is a safety win, a traffic flow win, and a win for the urban experience. Welcome to the North End!

Approved, per the Globe today (3/11):

A neighbor is suing saying that the height of the building will cast shadows and restrict airflow to her property. UNBELIEVABLE!

The lawsuit is over the 12 feet of height that go above and beyond the permitted height. ZBA reviews on 8/23.

Developer is in a lose-lose. If the ZBA somehow approves this over neighborhood opposition, this neighbor will sue and hold it up for years with her unlimited resources to pay Mintz Levin. If the ZBA denies, project is over. No Cross Street improvements, no Cutillo Park improvements, horrible trash situation continues, and North End gets what it really wants - resident parking on the Cross Street plaza. As always, the mayor's office can change this insane process tomorrow but it chooses not to. Rinse repeat.

Worst case scenario... sued by a divorce lawyer... no mercy. ☠

Plaintiff's condo is on a lower floor near the yellow car.

The alley in KZ's photo supra is actually a street. Morton St. I can't believe the city dignified an alley by naming it as a street. Good bet that the city will require a setback from Morton St. for this proposed hotel for fire and life safety reasons.

Maybe the developer can add a huge turbine fan and sun lamp directed right at her unit, 24/7/365.

We shouldn't be borderline doxxing people on here. You never know what people's mental state is here- I question some people and this is basically an invitation for harassment at the least

I guess one of the meetings was today. It sounds like she is just unhappy with the whole hotel, so she is making a stink about it.

"The project awaits approval from the Boston Zoning Board of Appeal, and Caulder and his co-defendants filed a motion to dismiss the suit last month. Massachusetts Land Court Judge Howard Speicher scheduled a hearing on the motion for Aug. 15."

I generally agree, but a person who initiates a civil court action has doxxed themselves.
