Or black. Black glass is criminally underutilized and looks great basically every time its used. Idk why more developers dont use it makes no sense.
 
1/1 From Waltham. It's very forgettable from a skyline perspective, a real downgrade on that front. The strange patterning of the glass looks sloppy.

I think this turned out really nice. The cafe called "Sip" is excellent. I wish there were more outdoor spots like this in Boston in February!

I like it, feels like London to me for some reason (in a good way) and is a significant improvement imo. That said, I agree I don't want every building to be clear/blue glass.

Agreed. To me, the new #1 is One Boston Place. Whenever there are Celtics games or other nationally televised events, I'm embarrassed when the aerial footage shows that tower. It's so basic and dated. It looks like a child designed it with building blocks. Like they had a big rectangular block and then just stuck a small square block on top of it. I wish they could somehow change the top of the building...

I always liked that building. It looks a bit sleek and different from the surrounding buildings.

When I first saw the rendering, my initial reason was big woof, another downtown glass tower. But the finish product is quite impressive and (imo) a big improvement. My only mild criticism is that I wish they were a bit more aggressive with the red highlights, perhaps at the crown. It does make it standout.

Interesting. Reads as Frankfurt to me (also in a good way). Re: citydweller's take -- I, too, wish the red hadn't been quite so subtly applied.

The only thing I miss about the previous version is the weird little glass trapezoid-cum-ziggurat room on the very top floor. The first renders of the re-cladding had a nice mini-crown, which we of course lost because Boston.

I agree with the red highlights. I wish they had been more aggressive with the red highlights. Very Richard Rogers.
