Some interior pictures of Union Threater before they start construction to rehab the building. It will be used as a theater for live performances and will do movie events on certain days. Has been empty for almost 20 years.

Hopefully they are able to build this. I see a lot of hurdles from the city though.
 
There is another project on Mill and Union St that is being proposed. This one would also tear down the existing factory and smoke stack. This is right next to the train station. Screenshot below.

Some unfortunate news, the Mayor wants to close down Caron Park Zoo in September and tear down a majority of the structures there. Has been there since 1937.

Why is that unfortunate? Zoos are cruel and outdated
 
The old model of zoos is definitely cruel and outdated where they would capture healthy animals and place them in captivity or breed healthy animals to give to other zoos for human entertainment. I know a lot of zoos are moving towards rehabilitation and keeping animals that cant be released back into the wild due to injury or captivity and I think this is a good model going fwd. There are also some species of animals that have gone extinct in the wild that were able to be brought back due to animals that were being kept in zoos or at peoples houses. I think a rehabilitation and conservation model is good and can serve a very important purpose going fwd as there is definitely a huge need for this due to habitat destruction and degradation that is getting worse and worse.
