Amtrak now Plans to have new Superliner Cars made. Now known as part of the LDFR, (LONG-DISTANCE FLEET REPLACEMENT) program Amtrak is still out to bring new equipment into the mix with new Superliner cars. Among other things, these new cars will feature elevator to help accommodate passengers requiring ADA service to & from the second levels of the new cars. This will be a first in Amtrak's history of travel. This plan could possibly replace the old Superliner cars with all-new ones to help make boarding the cars much better & easier!!

It seems that Amtrak is on an all-out race to get new equipment in use, replacing all the old trains, starting with the Avelia Liberty high-speed trains, then the Airo trains, new single-level long distance cars, & now new superliners with elevators. I truly hope that all goes well in their bid to get this all going, as it is much needed, to replace decrepit decades-old equpment!!!!!! :)
