I absolutely love this building too but it definitely needs to be taller and a bit thinner because it gets swallowed up by its surroundings and you don't notice it until you're like a block away! How iconic this would be if it was on the river too, like the way the BU stacked books building stands out across the river. The coloring, detail, and design is so unique, it needed to stand out more to truly shine! Oh well I guess it's more of a "surprise hidden gem" for those not in-the-know.
 
The style and color is amazing. If it is 5-10 floor taller, it could be the icon of future Cambridge.
 
This is the sort of thing that looks great because it's executed well, but if it were executed anything less than perfectly, would be awful.

That counter example suffers from sticking out like a sore thumb. 585 Kendall is surrounded by many other buildings and spaces. The Zinc building would be improved by being one amongst many buildings.
