I think how the top third finalizes will be what determines the success or failure of the finished product because that's where its uniqueness lies. The bottom 2/3 is really generic on 3 of the 4 sides.
I was responding to the comment before which was really referring to the overall design and its place in the skyline. I appreciate what it will have inside and at the ground level, if a bit tacky with the pink lighting in the render here, but for me, the uniqueness of this building's design overall, especially if not looking close up, is how the angles and surfaces come together at the top (at least in the renders). Without that it is just another Boston glass box.???????
.....you're overlooking the massive lobby enlargement for the neighboring Huntington Theatre - - - I would venture to say that IS quite a big deal. ........... And unique. What an amazing donation to the arts.
The irony is that I can't name any other new development in Boston/Cambridge which improves it's neighbor's capacity and economics going forward as much as this one does.

Love that view down into those little streets. It's an awesome little micro-neighborhood, wedged next to the pike. The crane just peeking out. Pic taken from Boylston/Cambria behind the Berklee School of Music, looking south at St. Cecilia church last night (taken on my crappy iPhone). I'm no kz when it comes to pics, lol. but why tf does it look like its going up in Miami or Toronto?
Did you mean the famously cheap and dated US National Historic Landmark Symphony Hall, or the US National Historic Landmark Jordan Hall? Or maybe the National Register of Historic Places listed Huntington Theatre next door, which was designed to tie into the building? The music facilities on the rest of that block look cheap & dated too, shoulda got real architects to design a unified
complex as a whole...
