Residences on Madison | 5 Madison Street | Worcester

I walked by over the weekend. They seem to have taken care to make it mesh with the old David Burwick building. Not just in terms of height but the spacing between the wings is the same as the gap between this and the Burwick's higher wall. The vibe of that whole area is changing dramatically.

Hurley Building Redevelopment | 19 Staniford St | West End

It's a monument built by people who hated cities and the people who live in them. Tear it down.

Evolution of the Prudential Center: 1954-1989

That was Galacidalacidesoxyribonucleicacid: It's in the Salvidor Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL now.

Lincoln Square Boy's Club | Salisbury Street | Worcester

Steel is now going up, the first floor appears to be in place. And a head's up: the right lane of Lincoln St. (heading downtown) is now blocked off and closed. Not great during rush hours.

Residences on Madison | 5 Madison Street | Worcester

Does anyone know the latest on the parking lot next to this (across the street from Coney Island)? A few years ago I thought there was a proposal for that site, though maybe I'm misremembering and it was in fact this project. Anyway, I've been down on Madison and Green Street a couple times in...

Fenway Corners (Red Sox) | 1 Jersey Street | Fenway

The Sox don't need more seating. The trend has been toward less seating, better per game fill on average, and more luxury boxes for a long while. No one likes being at a half empty 50k seating stadium. Fenway has actually jumped ahead of Miami and Cleveland's stadiums in recent years. Several...

Fenway Corners (Red Sox) | 1 Jersey Street | Fenway

Since 2004, really. And 2008 was a nice validator, but they won a couple more. The online Sox fanbase is soul crushingly negative these days. You would not know from reading their thoughts that the Red Sox are arguably the most successful MLB team of the past quarter century.

Fenway Corners (Red Sox) | 1 Jersey Street | Fenway

It's fine, maybe good or great. It's a street wedged between a ballpark and rail/highway so something like this is a huge upgrade over the parking garage that's there now. Assuming the Red Sox are able to build everything they intend to around the park it's a massive upgrade to the area, which...

    3 Oriol Drive | Worcester

Right off the highway too. It's not downtown living but it's not inconvenient for car life. Any additional units are good units. Build, build, build. More, more, more. Housing is increasingly desperate out here.

    Worcester Infill and Developments

That will be a huge improvement. Do we think there's any chance some of the empty lots in Main St. might be built up anytime soon?

    General Worcester Discussion

Telegram is paywalled. Is that the bridge over MLK Jr Blvd downtown? Reduced lanes should make the terrible rush hour traffic even worse for the duration. Especially westbound in the evening.

    New York City Congestion Pricing

Political cries for state's rights generally are just BS to try to have it both ways. We don't want to do what the federal government says, but when the federal government imposes things we like on others, great. Don't take the bait.

    Worcester | Canal District infill/discussion

I'm going to keep beating this drum: I really like the ballpark. Inside the park you're basically on top of the field, viewing angles are fantastic, and it's just a fantastic place to watch a game. The facade is mediocre? Whaaatever.

Lincoln Square Boy's Club | Salisbury Street | Worcester

They've been pouring A LOT of concrete the past couple weeks. There was a string of cement trucks lined up going into the site at one point.

North End Piazza on The Greenway | 198 Hanover Street | North End

Sounds like they should have bought the 198 Hanover parcel if they wanted to maintain their view.

Holocaust Museum Boston | 125 Tremont Street | Downtown

It seems like plenty of room for pedestrian access. Is the construction going to cover more of the street and they're getting ahead of that being a problem? I'm not seeing what the issue is here based on the photos though...

    General Infrastructure

Assuming you mean red light cameras, aren't they generally regarded as a terrible, horrible, bad thing that don't improve safety but rather disproportionately impact poorer drivers, lead to predatory behavior like shortening yellow lights, allow insurance companies another way to justify...

    Worcester Infill and Developments

I have no idea about their actual financials but I go by the Marriott several times a week and the parking lot always seems busy / mostly full. I'm wondering if at least the Marriott is hitting an age when it's going to need an internal refresh / renovation and that cost is making them look to...

    Worcester Ballpark & Redev

I've been to a few games this year and last year. I don't think it's been sold out for any of those games but the park is always lively. It's a really nice venue and atmosphere for watching a game. As a fan, I don't think I actually want it sold out too often either. Being able to just decide...

    5 Salem Square | Worcester

Er, that picture is actually the City Square parcel on the corner of Front and Mercantile (across the street from Ruth's Chris). I believe 5 Salem Sq. is actually the corner of Franklin and Church (across from the WPL).
