Since it's CIP from this point up, the steel work will be done.
It makes sense why we see the pause in vertical construction, because in order to start the concrete portion they need to complete the last floor of steel so they have somewhere to form & support the cast in place floors.

There are also similar concrete elements on the bus terminal side of the core. These basically serve to channel the majority of the tower loads into the concrete core to reduce the amount of steel columns going through the concourse/track area. I imagine we'll see some interesting steel work in...

For what it's worth, if you look closely at the video of the construction sequence you can see around the structural arches first then around the 1:00 mark you see final shape/finishes applied.

According to the project website, the tower won't really get going till next year. That being said, I wouldn't be totally surprised to see some steel poking up by the end of the year.

Springfield/Chicopee/Westfield area is really the only option. 1.5-2hrs each way to Boston or Albany depending on how you hit rush hour. Seems not ideal but doable considering that's what most people that come into NYC from the burbs are dealing with.
I'm getting big One Bryant Park vibes from that entry rendering.
Overall I give it a resounding "meh". I would agree that losing the sloped diamonds was a big downgrade.
