Hey, sorry for the lack of clarity. I agree Blue Line to Kendall is preferable to Bowdoin. In lieu of the fact that the tight turnaround and huge traffic to be experienced could be problematic to the hospitals in the area, and it seemed like a large amount of the cost would be working in the...
Blue-Red Line connector to Charles MGH is short sighted.
Only a couple of problems. 1- You sometimes have to let train, after train, after train, go by on the Red Line if trying to board anywhere after Harvard Station. Meaning by Central and Kendall the trains are overstuffed. So good luck...
Look for Springfield City Hall it is one block east.... I took photos of the Casino and uploaded on Wikipedia.

Who's bright idea was it to outsource it?????

The dorm was built, and is operated, by a private, for-profit company that leases land from UMass. Students make their housing payments directly to the company, Capstone Development, which will own the building for 40 years. After that...
Re: North-South Rail Link
If all 11-12 commuter rail lines are going to be passing through Boston this Rail Link is going to need a lot more than 2 tracks. It might need like 5-6 tracks like Back Bay in order to handle all those train routes.
Why not just cut-and-cover under the current unused railyard? Harvard I'm sure would love the opportunity to use more of the surface land to build more buildings and or green space like another Harvard Yard.
Facebook is also plopping a newer and larger office in Kendal Square, Cambridge, Mass. too.

Re: North-South Rail Link
Yes.... Two pair of tracks is always best. The lack of such is why the MBTA is such a mess today. All it takes is one train breakdown and everything grinds to a halt (in both directions) when there's only 2 tracks. At least if you have 4 tracks and a train...
I'd rather not have my tax dollars filling Amazon's coffers considering it is already one of the largest companies on the planet. Hope they don't pick Cambridge. Amazon can afford to pay for their own HQ.
If Boston makes an offer for Cambridge I'd take 'em up on it. I HATTTE this crap about having to go all the way out to Woburn to do Jury Duty when Suffolk County Court is just across the Charles River and I'm not allowed to just serve there next to me.
Re: The New Office Thread
This might be something better for out near Springfield/Western Massachusetts as Amazon I am sure will want ample land to be able to expand distribution warehouses later on as needed around their campus. Plus it could kick start light rail, monorail, commuter rail...
