Thanks for saying this, Chris. Every time I see this thing, I think it is banal and generic, and basically just horrible. Yeah it housed a prison, but I agree the original building was better.

At one point I remember reading something about five Union Square businesses having been identified as landmarks and whose relocation within or near the redeveloped square would be facilitated by the developers. I know Ricky's was one of those businesses. Has that initiative been scrapped?

What was the Utile design? Wasn't the previously-approved by Handel? Did Utile have something before or more recently?

Doesn't ZIP System sheathing have an insulation layer? The sheathing covers the plate and eliminates any thermal bridging, no?
