It does not appear that Mr. Duffy has any relevant experience. Regardless, this is an unusually important selection as the incoming Transportation Secretary will have large influence on the distribution of remaining IRA and BIL funds. While the federal funding firehose has already been disappointingly highway-oriented, we can expect to see the remaining funds be directed even more towards highway projects and particularly for capacity expansion projects.

He was on some of the first reality tv shows (RealWorld and Road Rules) and later was a tv host on Fox. His wife was a Real World and Road Rules cast member on MTV as well. In one person's mind, that makes him extremely well qualified.
