Cool towers but what is going on with that pedestal? Looks like something out of Star Wars and incredibly inhuman.

I have a curious attraction to the Neo-brutalism base -- it's a looker! An exoskeleton tower, ala a Zaha Hadid, would have sat comfortably upon it.

Obviously there is some artistic maneuvering going on in the rendering as the concrete wall snakes around a parking lot that will presumably be developed in another phase or future development.

if you look at many of the proposed towers in newark they all seem to have these weird star wars concrete bases, not sure why.

Newark is absolutely booming right now, these are just the ones with the weird podiums, plenty more towers proposed or u/c right now too.

Just gets worse and worse. I hated the Jenga version, but that was better than this slop.

Any architect that draws trees on a skyscraper should have their license revoked.

They really REALLY cant figure out what to do with 2wtc. It just keeps getting worse. Either build a second freedom tower there with no spire (speaking of spires wtf happened to 1wtc, unacceptable) or build the one with the diamond roof. Thats the 2 options. All this jenga bullshit is a disgrace.

-About 1wtc’s spire they said they couldnt put a radone on it because it would be impossible to clean… then how did they do it on the old wtc, sears tower, and a million other towers. Bullshit.

What a joke. Literally just putting up a regular radome like on the old wtc would have at least given some weight to it. What they got is crap. They need to go back and fix this mistake.
